Francis Buchholz on Scorpions’ hit single ‘Wind of Change:
\n“When we had recorded it, you know, the record company called me and said: ‘Can we change ‘Wind of Change’? Can we take out the whistling? It’s not rock n’ roll in that for us in America, you know. Can you put in some guitar?’ So I went to Klaus (Meine) and said: ‘Klaus listen, can we get rid of the whistling?’ I didn’t like… I wasn’t so much a friend of it anyway. I was discussing it with him and he got very angry so the whistling stayed in and it became a huge hit in Europe but it didn’t get that much airplay in America.”<\/p>\n
