I had a bad feeling all day. And my fears came true. I just got back from the Scout Bar. Michael Schenker canceled the gig there. The person in charge at the Scout Bar said that he got on a plane yesterday and flew home. So, the rest of the tour may be in jeopardy as well. Call your venue for any upcoming shows and find out before you drive a long way.
I was so looking forward to this show. I even got my two Lonesome Crow LPs out to get them signed by Schenker. It would have been a great gig. Maybe he will reschedule. I hope everything is OK with Michael.

Don Dokken and guitarist Steve Smyth (Nevermore, ex-Testament) are confirmed for this year’s Uli Jon Roth Sky Academy seminar and concerts, which are set to take place August 22-26 at Musician’s Institute in Los Angeles. Roth will perform two concerts, titled Uli Jon Roth And Friends, in conjunction with his Sky Academy Seminar. Other guests confirmed to jam with Uli this year are as follows: Roy Z (Bruce Dickinson, Halford) , Chris Poland (ex-Megadeth), Tony Franklin (bass – Blue Murder, The Firm, Whitesnake), Michael Ehre (drums – Metalium), Joe Stump, Michael Angelo Batio, Adrian Galysh, Andrew Shulman (cello), and Rob Pagliari (bass). Tickets are already onsale for the two concerts via Ticketmaster here and here.

Here is an interesting article from CBS News about a big band not having a record label and releasing a CD on their own. Maybe the Scorpions don’t need a record deal in the states.
