Sting In The Tail”, the new album from German hard rock veterans SCORPIONS, sold 18,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 23 on The Billboard 200 chart. This marks the band’s highest chart debut in over 20 years. The CD also landed at No. 6 on the Rock Albums chart. Sting In the Tail features the anthemic single “Raised On Rock,” which is #2 on the Classic Rock Mediabase chart and adds to their remarkable list of hits including “Rock Your Like A Hurricane,” “Wind of Change” and “No One Like You”.

SCORPIONS’ last record, “Humanity – Hour 1”, opened with 10,500 units back in September 2007 to enter The Billboard 200 chart at No. 63.

Former NIGHTWISH singer Tarja Turunen performed the song “The Good Die Young” with The SCORPIONS last night (Saturday, March 27) on Germany’s talk show “Wetten, Dass..?”. The program also featured an interview with Tarja and SCORPIONS members Rudolf Schenker and Klaus Meine. Watch the clips below.
