The Scorpions will be playing 40 dates all around the World in 2009. The Tour starts tomorrow night April 3 in France . Please check our tour dates section for all updates.

They also will be entering a recording studio sometime in the second half of the year to work on their new studio album. It looks like they will be recording their new CD in their home country of Germany. But that could change over time. I will keep you posted.

Right now the Scorpions and management are in talks with another major rock band about a possible major tour of North America in 2010. I will not say who the other band is until it’s 100% confirmed.

German hard rock veterans SCORPIONS received a lifetime achievement award at this year’s ECHO German Music Awards. The band accepted its ECHO in person last night (Saturday, February 21) at Berlin’s O2 World and performed an exclusive medley of the SCORPIONS hits “Big City Nights”, “Rock You Like A Hurricane” and “Wind Of Change” before 10,000 fans. Watch footage of the performance below.The band, whose international career began 40 years ago in Hanover, is the most successful German rock group of all time. With over 75 million recordings sold and countless platinum and gold albums, it has influenced generations of rock musicians.

According to Metalzone.gr, German hard rock veterans SCORPIONS will headline the Scorpions Festival 2009 on July 6 Karaiskaki stadium in Athens, Greece. This year’s edition of the event will include a so-called SCORPIONS “reunion,” featuring appearances by various former members of the band, including Uli Jon Roth, Michael Schenker and Herman Rarebell. Also scheduled to appear at the festival is MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, with the opening act set to be selected through a competition.
