SCORPIONS Forced To Cut Hamburg Concert Short

German hard rock legends SCORPIONS were forced to cut short their concert in Hamburg last night (Monday, March 21) because of a “viral infection” affecting the voice of the band’s lead singer, Klaus Meine. The band reportedly performed for about thirty minutes before calling off the rest of the gig. It is not presently clear if Meine will be well enough to take part in SCORPIONS‘ next performance, which is scheduled for Wednesday (March 23) in Leipzig.

The Scorpions issue statement concerning the Hamburg show and beyond: “We’re very sorry that the concert in Hamburg had to be discontinued due to acute vocal problems of Klaus Meine yesterday. Klaus has been for days under medical treatment. As a viral infection has now unfortunately affected his voice, the treatment will be continued with even more effort to get his health problems under control as quickly as possible. We expect to announce further information on the progress of the tour this afternoon.”
