THREE recently shot a video for the song “All That Remains”, which is the first single off their new album, “The End Is Begun”, released on July 24. The video was directed and shot by acclaimed director David Brodsky (GWAR, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, HELMET) and his crew at MyGoodEye. The performance portion of the video took place at the site of a crumbling, abandoned castle usually closed off to film/video crews. However, after hearing THREE’s music they had a change of heart, convinced that this band would be the perfect compliment to their location.”The End Is Begun” was mixed by Toby Wright, who has previously worked with ALICE IN CHAINS, METALLICA, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY and FEAR FACTORY, among many others.THREE came together in the mid-1990s and very quickly developed a strong local following. In the year 2000, THREE landed a recording contract with Planet Noise Records, and released its debut CD, “Paint by Number”, an exquisite collection of 14 tracks.In 2003, THREE released its follow-up CD, “Summer Camp Nightmare”, an album that marked an evolutionary leap in the bands already highly developed sound. When fellow NY-based rockers COHEED AND CAMBRIA got their hands on this record they insisted that THREE hit the road with them, and the rest, as they say, is history. Enter 2005, the band signed to Metal Blade Records and prepared the re-release of “Wake Pig”, which was previously released by Planet Noise Records in 2004, with new art and lyrics which were not in the earlier version, two new songs, a couple of remixes, and new vocals added to the song “Where’s Max”.

Rock My Monkey: You did allude to the fact, right now the current tour dates that you have posted on your website, it’s kind of a short mini tour, and you’ll be returning soon in the new year. What’s the chance of that being a full coast to coast tour of The United States? And I also heard a rumor that when you return that you might have an opening act named Doro Pesch?

Klaus Meine: (laughs) Oh, that’s news to me. I’ve never heard that. Doro Pesch. I mean, she’s a very powerful singer, and we know each other for way back. A long time. But I haven’t heard about that before. But the fact is that we just now in 2007, since we’ve been all over Europe by now, and we’ve been all over Latin America now. Since the summer season is pretty much over, and what we’re looking for is a very powerful package for next year to hopefully in the summer hit The States again and go from the West Coast to the East Coast, all the way. And I know a lot of fans on the East Coast haven’t seen The Scorpions for a long time. So we hope we find the right package for next year. For this year, though, it’s just, we do a few shows like now in September, we would be in Los Angeles at The Universal Amphitheater, and also we play a show at The Beacon Theater in New York City, and a couple shows in between, like Tuscon, Vegas. A couple places. It’s not a big tour. You’re right. But the album is released the 28th of August, and we hope this time, we got a good support, not only from the label, but also from the radio, and so far I think there’s very good report on the first single, on Humanity. So it’s good that we play a few key places and key cities before we come back next year for more.

I know i announced back in May that we were out of the picture for any North American Scorpions projects. Well that has all changed in the past month. We have been contacted by Azoff management that our site and team would be helping out with the upcoming mini- North American tour,meet and greets,promotion with “Humanity Hour 1” and the 2008 Full North American tour. It looks like the new record label “Universal Records” distribution by “New Door Records” thinks our site and team could really help out with the success of the new CD and Tour. So we would like to thank Universal Records and Azoff Management for noticing our hard work in the past 6 months and for keeping us part of the team. Our goal from day 1 was always to keep the Scorpions Music and Spirit alive in North America. We have alot of hard work ahead us in the next few months and hopefully many years to come. So stay tune and when we get any information regarding the Scorpions we will pass it along ASAP…

North American Mini Promotional Tour Starts August 25 in Shawinigan Canada ends September 29 in Boston (20 dates)… but there will be more dates coming in 2008..
