New Scorps News Feature: Rare Songs “All My Love”

Hello everyone! It has been a long time, maybe never, that I have posted on here. Scott is doing an awesome job, BTW. But I wanted to start a new feature on here. We’ll see if I can keep it up on a regular basis. I wanted to start bringing to light some of the very rare songs that the Scorpions have written and maybe recorded. We may not know very much at all about them, but we can speculate. I will post all of my evidence and why I feel the way I do.

The first song that I would like to bring up is entitled “All My Love”. It has not ever been released to my knowledge. It was written by Klaus Meine and Rudolf Schenker. I assume Klaus wrote the lyrics and Rudolf the music. It appears in the BMI Repertoire database of all songs for which BMI has the rights.

It is BMI Work #20794945. Note that you will have to start a search first. Approve the terms and conditions. And then the link I have above will take you directly to the song information.

I believe that this is a left over song from the Blackout sessions. A song with this title appeared on early press releases for the 50th Anniversary Release of Blackout. However, the final release did not include the song.

Maybe one day we will be able to hear what this song sounds like.

Mikkey Dee Addresses Covid-19 Health Issue

Mikkey Dee - DRUMMERWORLD

Hello guys!

I just want to set some rumors straight regarding Don Dokkens statement about my Corona situation. I did get Corona and was sick for about 1 month. I am now fully recovered since mid April. I was already playing hockey and drums by the end of April. Unfortunately my good friend Don got some info wrong. I did not get Corona in Australia, the virus was contracted in Sweden. I did not loose 35 pounds, I lost 15 pounds. But as I just mentioned, I am now fully recovered and have registred antibodies so that feels great. I can’t wait for things to go back to normal so we can hit the road again. Thank you guys for caring and my heart goes out to each and everyone affected by the current situation our world is in.

Stay safe! Mikkey

Pollstar Live! Digital Session: The Scorpions

Scorpions Band Members Stock Pictures, Royalty-free Photos & Images
Pollstar took a close look at the incredible career of the Scorpions, which came out of West Germany in the late 1960s and conquered the world “one sting at a time.”
It’s an incredible 55-year history that would require several books to be told in all detail. We focused on the live milestones, like the Scorpions’ first concert in North America at the “World Series of Rock” in 1978; the 1983 US Festival, where some 300,000 fans saw the Scorpions steal the show; the Moscow Music Peace Festival in 1989, also known as the Russian Woodstock, and many more.
The band has sold more than 100 million records to date, which makes them the most successful rock band of Continental Europe.
We sat down with front man and vocalist Klaus Meine, lead guitarist Matthias Jabs and Scorpions founder Rudolf Schenker for the latest installment of the Pollstar Live! Digital Sessions series of interviews – to delve a bit deeper into some of the most significant moments in the band’s career, and to find out how the production of their 19th studio album is going in times when the band cannot meet LA-based producer Greg Fidelman in person.

Klaus Meine interviewed by Rock Talk with Mitch Lafon

Rock Talk With Mitch Lafon… and Alan Niven present legendary Scorpions’ frontman, KLAUS MEINE (recorded June 2020) Klaus discusses the band’s latest single SIGN OF HOPE as well as working on a new heavier album with (Metallica/Slipknot) producer Greg Fidelman, revisiting older demo songs for the new album, the importance of adding Mikkey Dee to the lineup, working with Desmond Child and vocal coach Eric Vetro on Humanity: Hour 1, being re-energized to continue after the Farewell tour, the 40th Anniversary of Animal Magnetism and much more. Plus, one incredible fan boy geek question… QUOTE: “It’s great to have Greg Fidelman (Metallica/Slipknot) on our side. From the very beginning we said, if we make a new album it’s got to be on the harder edge. It’s got to be an album with attitude. It’s got to take us back to the ’80s – where we had many many big songs and big albums like Lovedrive, Animal Magnetism, Blackout and all that stuff. It was just to try to focus on that kind of vibe. If we can pull this off after so many years, I don’t know. All I know is we started writing last year and we have lots and lots of material. What I hear everyday in the studio feels really good… we’re on the right direction; the right track. We work on an album and we try to really go back to the Scorpions DNA from those years. It’s crazy to think about making a new album, but we’re totally in sync with Greg Fidelman. We want to go to this old vibe… After so many many years and decades to go back into the studio to work on an album and to write new material; I think it’s a blessing that we don’t sit here at home watching the grass grow. It’s so much in our veins to travel, to play shows… It feels so good to go deep into your creative world and create new material, new songs… That feels really really good.”

Scorpions Have ‘So Much Great Material’ For Next Studio Album, Says Klaus Meine

SCORPIONS frontman Klaus Meine spoke to Marci Wiser of the 95.5 KLOS radio station about the band’s upcoming studio album. Tentatively due in 2021, the disc will mark the German hard rock legends’ first release since 2017’s “Born To Touch Your Feelings – Best Of Rock Ballads”, which was an anthology of SCORPIONS‘ new and classic material.

“We have so much great material, and, of course, many, many hard and heavy rockers,”Klaus said (hear audio below). “A couple of ballads as well. We’re so excited. I tell you it’s a blessing in troubled times, like we all go through right now, that we have a chance to be at home and to go into the studio to work on new material and to go and lose yourself in the creative world. It’s great.”

Speaking about SCORPIONS‘ post-pandemic touring plans, Meine said: “When we made this decision [to make a new studio album] last year, we all were excited about it. But that means also, when this record comes out, with all those new songs, and no more songs from way back, from the vault — it’s all new written material — and we’re excited to put it out. And then, of course, we wanna go out on the road again. Not only will we play the postponed Las Vegas [residency] shows next year, but we also wanna put on a full tour in the U.S. — we wanna present a new show, a whole new setup with hopefully a lot of new songs, new song material. We’re really excited about it.

“[As for] what the future brings, you never know,” he continued. “Right now, we’re all in this terrible lockdown, and every other day, you watch the news, and it feels like, here in Germany, the place where we are, in Lower Saxony, our state, it feels like it’s pretty much under control and it’s okay. It’s not great yet. But every other day, you hear news when the virus pops out in some places, some meat factories and stuff, and it’s scary. And absolutely we have no idea where this whole thing will go. And nobody knows around the world. The good thing is, in a crazy way, we’re all united, because we’re all facing the same problem together through these difficult times. And it’s a good way to think about it, that we all live on the same planet, and we’d better work together and we really have to stick close together to get through this terrible time. And hopefully there will be better days around the corner.”

SCORPIONS‘ new album will be produced by Greg Fidelman, who began his career as the guitarist and songwriter for RHINO BUCKET before launching his career as a producer, engineer and mixer, finding an early mentor in Rick Rubin.
